What Does The MGF Group
Stand for?
If you’re wondering what The MGF Group stands for, first you must understand what drives us forward: family.
Co-founders Darragh and Peadar made the move from Ireland to the US many years ago. After Peadar’s father passed away in 1995, he moved to the US with his wife, and their three children were born in the US. When Darragh’s mother passed away in 2013, this sparked his move to the US.
After gaining years of experience in building supplies, mostly in sales and distribution, they decided it was time to set up their own business. When Darragh asked Peadar if he minded naming the company MGF after his mother Maura Garvey – with the F standing for forever – Peadar said he was happy to call it what he liked, once they could get going!
When The MGF Group started out, we had just one truck and a 600 sq. foot warehouse. Since then, we have cultivated a loyal customer base, opened a store at 674 Central Park Avenue, and are growing our team. When you recognize the Dublin skyline on our trucks, you’ll know that Ireland is still very much in our hearts.
So, when we’re asked what The MGF Group stands for, we say that we stand for on- site safety. For quality. For timely
delivery.

Peadar McArdle, originally from Armagh, is a highly skilled carpenter with a distinguished career in the building supply industry. After enhancing his expertise through upskilling opportunities in Boston, Peadar relocated to New York, where he excelled in various sales and distribution roles. His contributions significantly boosted company performance and profitability, earning him the Exceptional Sales and Performance Award in 2019 and 2021 for surpassing budgeted sales targets.
During his tenure at Bostik, Peadar specialized as a self-leveling expert, which allowed him to further hone his skills and industry knowledge. It was here that he met Darragh, with whom he established a strong professional rapport. Peadar is widely respected for his extensive industry experience, unwavering commitment, and exceptional drive.
“Our primary focus is on-site safety and construction,” Peadar emphasizes. “We are dedicated to working diligently, prioritizing the well-being of our staff, and fostering a culture of mutual trust and respect with our clients.”
A dedicated supporter of Armagh GAA, Peadar recently celebrated the Orchard County's notable victory at Croke Park in July 2024. He is married to Shirley and is the proud father of three children: Sophie, Pierce, and Kate.
